30 Days Hath November ~ Prompt 1

These prompts are designed to be used for either poetry, essay, or short fiction writing (unless otherwise specified in the prompt).

Not everybody writes novels.  However you still should take advantage of this month to really exercise your creativity.

PROMPT 1

Write about how writing makes you feel.  Think mentally, physically, and emotionally.  Be as descriptive as possible.

November is National Novel Writing Month

I have been on the fence about participating because I failed miserably last year.  Then I spent the end of October reading a huge portion of my past works.  The unfinished stories really bugged the hell out of me.  Not one for quitting, I decided that I am going to give it a go again.

I have two projects I am working on, to satisfy my insane need to multitask.  My goal is to finish at least one of them by the end of the month.  I will probably stray from the typical way NaNoWriMo is done but I am going to document it all here on this blog.  I am not posting the actual novel on here.  But I will post my daily progress starting this evening.  The goal is 50,000 words by the end of the month.  The hard part for me will be the NO EDITING rule.  (Pray for me ya’ll!)

I think you should all give it a go with me.  The website is http://www.nanowrimo.org/ and you should go there and register.  There is all types of stuff on there.  In some areas they have meet ups.  There are tons of tips.

For all my poet friends and followers… why not write a poem a day for thirty days.  I am going to continue to post prompts up.  I will try to post one a day for those who need inspiration.  At the end of the month you could have a wonderful poetry book!

If you write non-fiction, you can still do this challenge.  Write your memoir.  Write about your favorite topic.

The key… JUST WRITE!!!

Feel free to comment on posts and let me know how you are doing.

Let’s do this!

Those things I didn’t say… (writing prompt)

Take a pad of paper, notebook, or make notes in your mobile device of all the things you didn’t say in one day.  Somethings may be things you didn’t say to someone or things that were on your mind that never came out to anyone.  Whether it was fear, lack of time, or lack of opportunity… no matter what the reason… write it down.  Let it breathe outside of your head.

Happy Writing!

Writing Prompt: Caption this…

Caption this… what is going on? Your character walks out of a room and sees this.  What are they thinking?

Provide some back story… or none at all.

Caption this…

The key is to just write.

Thanksgiving Writing

Take some time to write out what you are thankful for.  Put the list on paper.  Keep it going.  See how long it gets.  No item is too big or small for this list.  Don’t feel confined to list form.  If a poem grows or a story… let it!

Writing Exercise #8

Write about a place that you have never been to but would like to visit.

Writing Exercise #7

Describe your happy place. Where is it? What does it look like? Is anyone there with you?
