Writing Prompt: What I Would Say (reblog)

I think this is a wonderful prompt idea!

It doesn’t have to be a poem… it can be a short story.  It can just be a list.

Focus on the exercise of writing!

The way that it works:

1. Write the numbers 1-20

2. Write a different person’s name that you know beside each number

3. Write a confession beside each name

4. Erase the names

Check out the original blog post to see what it looks like:  What I Would Say: A Poem.

Writing Prompt: Caption this…

Caption this… what is going on? Your character walks out of a room and sees this.  What are they thinking?

Provide some back story… or none at all.

Caption this…

The key is to just write.

Writing Prompt

So, today I shall challenge myself!

  • Write for 5 minutes, writing nothing except what is going on in your mind at the time.
  • Try to write word for word… don’t worry about it making any sense, linking to anything, or needing to show it to anyone.

JUST WRITE!!

Writing Prompt… Your six word memoir…

I just read this article about writing  six word memoir…

I have seen other people write six word poems… but this idea really intrigues me.

Check out the article:  http://www.writenowcoach.com/blog/?p=1135

Try it for yourself.  Let me know what you think.

My first one:  Sweetness turned bitter finding sweetness again…
