Those things I didn’t say… (writing prompt)

Take a pad of paper, notebook, or make notes in your mobile device of all the things you didn’t say in one day.  Somethings may be things you didn’t say to someone or things that were on your mind that never came out to anyone.  Whether it was fear, lack of time, or lack of opportunity… no matter what the reason… write it down.  Let it breathe outside of your head.

Happy Writing!

Writing Prompt: What I Would Say (reblog)

I think this is a wonderful prompt idea!

It doesn’t have to be a poem… it can be a short story.  It can just be a list.

Focus on the exercise of writing!

The way that it works:

1. Write the numbers 1-20

2. Write a different person’s name that you know beside each number

3. Write a confession beside each name

4. Erase the names

Writing Prompt: Caption this…

Caption this… what is going on? Your character walks out of a room and sees this.  What are they thinking?

Provide some back story… or none at all.

Caption this…

The key is to just write.

Writing Prompt

So, today I shall challenge myself!

  • Write for 5 minutes, writing nothing except what is going on in your mind at the time.
  • Try to write word for word… don’t worry about it making any sense, linking to anything, or needing to show it to anyone.

JUST WRITE!!

Simply God’s

Gracious is the Lord, and righteousness; yea,

our God is merciful.

The Lord preserveth the simple:

I was brought low,

and he helped me.

Psalm 116: 5-6

SIMPLY GOD’S

I see the position I hold in life

To me it looks kind of low

People seem to pass me by

But there’s one thing I know.

I know to whom I belong

Not some group pretending to care

No, in my darkest midnight hour

They will not be there.

I don’t belong on the outside

Trying to fit in

We all fall short of the glory

And sometimes land flat in sin.

No, I belong to God most high

For gracious is the Lord

Righteous and so merciful

To help me stay on accord.

When I look up from where I stand

And I see hills to climb are hard

And evil tries to push me down

I stop, because I know I belong;

I’m Simply God’s.

Writing Prompt… Your six word memoir…

I just read this article about writing  six word memoir…

I have seen other people write six word poems… but this idea really intrigues me.

Writing Exercise #6

Pick a time in the past in which you would have loved to be alive during.  Why? What about it is so appealing?

Writing Exercise #5

Create a character who is the exact opposite of you, both positively & negatively.  What do they look like?  What do they sound like?  Create a short background on them.  What is their history?  Where do you see there future going? (can be a page to the beginning of a book… your choice.)

As always…

HAVE FUN WITH IT!
